I used the partman tool, but experimented with what partitions to 
create until I found one that worked. So, I figured the result should 
be recorded somewhere as at least one known working partitioning 
scheme, even though the guided partitioner didn't arrive there.

It seems that yaboot refuses to boot the kernel from any RAID or LVM 
partition, so I had to keep the /boot partition separate from RAID :-(
