Comments/Problems:

First, thanks for Debian - I love it. I've had a number of problems,
most of which I think I can resolve by using lenny, which has a number
of packages/newer versions of things that I need to make some of my
hardware work (I'm nowhere near talented enough to be able to do this
from where I am now), such as a 2.6.22 kernel, ALSA 1.0.15, etc. I
imagine I'll switch over soon.

Everything worked fine except:

1. X didn't originally work. I think this is because the X driver I
need (xserver-xorg-video-intel) is not available in Etch. For reasons
I don't understand, when I got rid of xorg.conf (I moved it to
xorg.confSTOPPED), X began working, so I'm actually fairly happy with
this situation at the moment.

2. I couldn't load the XFCE task (I tried booting with
tasks="standard, xfce-desktop", but got gnome every time). Probably
the problem is on my end, but I thought I'd mention it.

While there's a number of other problems (sound doesn't work; modem,
wireless, and Bluetooth don't work; fingerprint reader doesn't work,
screen does bizarre pixellation at startup, etc.), these are all
essentially driver issues and I imagine that I can get them to work
soon enough. It appears that all of the necessary packages are out
there - it's just a question of me implementing them correctly.

Thanks for all the work, friends, I really appreciate it and hope this
helps. Shoot me a line if you have any questions.

Given that your installation was a complete success, I do as
usual with reports for successful installations: I close the bug..:-)

This does not of course mean you weren't right to report. Knowing the
installations are correct is important for the d-i team.

Many thanks for your time testing the Debian Installer and reporting
your results. Have fun with your new Debian system!
