Comments/Problems:
I have used the net-install ISO (4.0).
The network is instable, so wget to a known address is often stalled.
This I have tested (Alt-F2) because all mirrors are not accessible for
the installer. A ping from an other PC to this workstation shows
at least 50% lost.
Have rebooted, the basic system shows the same problems, ethtool
installed using a CD-RW (downloaded from
http://www.debian.org/distrib/packages).
This tool is not able to get data from eth0. I think the hardware is
wrong
configured, the switch shows:
Port Mode: 100 FD, Flow Control: Disabled
IMO on HP-UX it must be configured to use 100 FD. Because ethtool
is not able to get the current values of the card I have no idea
how to solve this problem. Maybe it will work with a CD-Install,
but 22 CD are really to many. Is there any description, which are
really necessary for an simple apache server system with XFCE as
GUI?
BR, Silvio
