Thanks, I had wondered why my slice and another Xen instance were doing
that..

But not because tasksel depends on dmidecode. Tasksel has a dependency
on laptop-detect, which in turn depends on dmidecode. So do several
other packages:

Reverse Depends:

  laptop-detect
  sitesummary-client
  laptop-detect
  hotkey-setup
  education-common
  acpi-support

Tasksel's laptop-detect dependency cannot be removed.

IMHO dmidecode should be fixed.
