Package: debian-installer
Severity: normal

I was today trying to install etch from debian-testing-i386-CD-1.iso
dated 2007-02-26. Unfortunately, I chose a partially desynced mirror
(ftp.de.d.o), and the installer failed on me silently.

After choosing "install software" and completing tasksel, the
installer stopped with a progress bar stalling at 5 % and hanging
there. Inspecting the process list showed an idle aptitude process. I
guess that the aptitude was hanging at the prompt "Untrusted packages
could compromise your system's security".

The installer should check and catch this condition and not hang
indefinetely.

Greetings
Marc

No, apt should not delete totally valid GPG keys. This is a known issue
that has already been fixed in unstable, but will take a few days to
reach testing. Therefore closing the report.
