Yes, we're aware of that. However, it is up to the Debian PowerPC
community to update that and unfortunately so far nobody has stepped up
to work on that.

That should be almost identical in both versions of the installation
guide :-)

Reassigning this report for clock-setup for this issue.
You can correct the setting to local time by editing the file
/etc/default/rcS and changing the value of UTC to "no".
Do you have another operating system installed on that system?
If you do, was that operating system detected by the installer?
If you do not, why not correct the system clock to UTC. For a system only
running linux that is the preferred setting.

Thanks for spotting that. I've added a few paragraphs to explain the
missing steps.

I'm not quite convinced that this is a bug. If you think it is, could you
please file a separate bug report about that against the 'gdm' package.
This is outside the scope of the installer itself.

Same here.

Yes, we need to clean up old installation reports. That is planned.

This is all normal. These commands are not intended to be run by a regular
user, but only by the administrator (root).
If you need help with issues like this, I suggest you ask on the
debian-user mailing list or the IRC channel #debian on OFTC.
