IIRC you have to enter something at boot to make a sparc boot from CD.
CD booting is not the default, like it is on many x86 machines.
Therefore, you're comparing apples and oranges, the existance of a
timeout on sparc is not relevant.

That is obviously a problem, but so is d-i booting unexpectedly.

My ambivilance factor is high on this one..
