Hey, that is an interresting use case! (and one we will see more the future)
I still believe it is not a installer thing to allways show the MAC address.
I also believe it is a good thing when there is a "link detected" on all
interfaces and all NICs have the same kernelmodule to disclose in that
preticular case the MAC address.
