Package: debian-installer
Severity: normal

Hello,

Using:

d-i daily build from 20-Jan-2007 09:57 netinst CD
  http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/i386/iso-cd/debian-testing-i386-netinst.iso

with "install DEBIAN_FRONTEND=text", the first screen "Choose
language" shows only:

  1. C - No localization
  2. English	- English [*]

and no more. It is for instance not possible to choose french. I'm not
shure if this is a bug but as all the supported languages are
available in the newt and GUI frontend, I guess it is. I didn't see
anything about that in the install manual.

On the next screen (country), it displays the 253 choices in one shot
without scrolling, so the choices are limited to the ~25 last countries.

Preseeding with "install DEBIAN_FRONTEND=text locale=fr_FR" is a
workaround.

This is expected and intentional with the text frontend. If you want to do
a localized installation, use the newt of gtk frontends.
