Without the exact message we cannot really investigate this, especially as
you are the first person reporting any problems.
Can you reproduce the problem if you repeat the installation?
Any messages in the /var/log/syslog that may indicate the cause of the
problem?
I guess you were using an i386 image?
What type of image where you using: businesscard, netinst, full CD or DVD?
You can answer most of these questions by giving the _full_ URL for the
image you downloaded instead of a partial one.
