Note that http://wiki.debian.org/DebianInstaller/Today for the last few 
days had:
* [24 Nov 2006] CD-ROM detection broken; should be fixed again in daily
  images for 26 Nov.

I've just removed that as the current dailies are fine again.

If the problems are with RC1, we'll need to look into them.
For some SATA controllers I understand that it is a known issue that 
should be fixed in 2.6.18, so those should try again now that we have 
made the switch to 2.6.18.
