IYNSHO you never made it clear what you think :-D (or the clarity of the
sentence is missing :-) ). Is the item important enough to be an errata item?

I would say yes.

I don't think anybody is insane enough to engage in a tug of war over the release
notes and, IMO, your claim is somewhat insulting.
