The error message is confusing....the real problem is that the dm module hasn't been loaded at all, which is because "depmod" wasn't run after the new modules were downloaded and installed.
Anyways, this has already been fixed (AFAIK) in partman-crypto 14 which was uploaded Sep 28, so please try with a more recent image :)
