Well, I suppose that Frans will not enter a BTS fight here, but what
you describe above is for stuff that can be judged as reasonable by
the relevant maintainer.

Here, Frans, as D-I release manager made the judgement call that
adding a clock to D-I is not really in the top priority list of things
he would like the team give its time to.

So, of course, we can keep the suggestion opened in case one of us
judges (s)he has enough time to waste on this....but it is soooo
improbable that just putting the suggestion aside is acceptable.

Another option is, of course, in case you judge this important enough
for you, to implement it and then collaborate to the D-I development
effort.
