Comments/Problems:
Using expert non graphical mode, being a bit cautious with partitioning as the
machine is a 4x boot. (win, suse10.1, kubuntu, debian sid (now) )

1) initial install failed, tried netinst and businescard. Had used the stick 3
days before to install sarge on a 32bit PC and only changed the iso to 64bit
etch b3. Installer came up fine and after some configuration found the isos
on the stick /dev/discs/disc6/part1 but was then unable to read from it.
Close to give up I reinstalled the boot.image.gz to the stick and changed
partition from sdc1 to sdc . That did it, either the later or the new
boot.image.gz .
Proposal, if it is the boot.image: It might be implied, but may be better
point out in the manuals to always update the boot.image.gz with the latest
iso. (Still not know, is the installer in the boot.image? I though it would
just generate a bootable stick with a Fat partition, so I did not update it
first.)

2) While asking for a mirror, the text mentioned that 'ftp.your
country.debian.org' is a save bet. Well, it was not in the list of mirrors
(germany, de). :-)
Not a big issue, found a nice mirror close by and know how to change entries
in the sources.list if required, but a glitch to recommend something which is
not even selectable in the list.

3) For the first time I selected 'Desktop' when asked what kind of
installation I want, to avoid dealing with apt-get on the console.
Well, (half expected) it installed Gnome. I'm a KDE user. OK, so I got KDE and
kicked Gnome, but time was lost to fetch the, unwanted, Gnome desktop.
Proposal: At least mention that Gnome will be installed on the selection
screen. Better offer more selections for KDE and XF(XC?).
If this is too much, there are other desktops/window manager out, what about
an entry with xorg only (guess synaptic would already require a
desktop/window manager).
That would be a head start into whatever desktop one want to install, bringing
the time with apt-get to a minimum until synaptic can take over.
