Because, not only is miboot non-free, but it is said to not even be includable
in non-free. Also, from my experience of the sarge release, lot of people
had problems with this. If anything else, please stop generating the useless
root*.img if you where still building them.

Also, with your proposal, there will not be, as was the case with sarge, any
build of the miboot floppies with the stable released d-i .udebs. This is i
believe a problem, especially once the daily builds start diverging from the
stable release.

Allowing the above mechanism, would allow to build the root*.img files without
rebuilding the whole d-i, and i believe ways preferable to the current setup.

But then, you are the oldworld guy, i have no control anymore on the code, so
you do what you want with it.
