Well, I tried. It didn't go far : base system could not be installed.
I learned the exact message by heart, but after 3 hours fighting with netcourrier.com
which was on vacation today, I forgot it. Bottom line : iso image on the USB stick
could not be found/mounted.
Then I couldn't mount any partition of my disks so I have no dmseg or lspci output to offer :-(
In /var/log/syslog I saw something like : hw-detect : no ide/flopppy/.. found. Bad.

It seems there is no 2.6 kernel in the image, maybe it could make things better if it was there..
Any further testing I can do ?

Used :
     http://amd64.debian.net/debian-installer/daily/hd-media/boot.img.gz (08-Apr-2006)
     http://cdimage.debian.org/cdimage/daily-builds/daily/arch-latest/amd64/iso-cd/debian-testing-amd64-netinst.iso (13-May-2006)

Wasfi.
