Comments/Problems:

First try the Ethernet device integrated with the motherboard was apparently
detected without complaint by the installer, however it did not really work.
(No packets output, according to Ethereal on another computer)

Second try I put in a Netgear FA311 10/100Mbps PCI card and it worked
perfectly from beginning of install thru final boot.

Although I have not tested every little thing yet, it looks like this may be
the FASTEST EASIEST MOST SUCCESSFUL OS INSTALL of my entire 25 year computer
career, Linux Mac or Windows!!! Kudos and thanks to everyone!

Hmm. I only see one NIC listed in the lspci output listed in your lspci
output which does not look like a Netgear.
The NIC that's listed should work with the "natsemi" driver module (at
least that is what the Sarge version of the installer will try to load).

I see that you've used the Sarge version of the installer. It might be
worth trying the Etch Beta 2 release [1] to see if that does recognize
the integrated NIC.

Thanks for your compliments and for filing your report.

I'm closing the report as the installation was successful. You can still
reply though if you'd like to add anything on the integrated NIC.

Cheers,
FJP
