Comments/Problems:

Workstation with LSI Logic / Symbios Logic 53c1030 PCI-X Fusion-MPT
Dual Ultra320 SCSI controler and two SCSI hard drives.
Installer does not issue the error message indicating that the hard
drive is not found (installer of unofficial Sarge Amd64 distribution
does), but no hard drive is detected, as neither the hard drive, nor
the partition table is offered for the "Partition hard drive" step.
