Package: installation-reports Version: 2.12 Severity: normal -- Package-specific info: Boot method: CD Image version: 20060306 daily build, businesscard Date: 20060306 2300 EST Machine: IBM ThinkPad T42p Partitions: I have a 15.0 GB Windows partition first, then a 6.5 GB root reiserfs partition, a 1.5 GB swap, and the rest is an xfs /home partition. During installation, I did not modify the partition table (this setup was preexisting), and the only partitions I formatted were the root and the swap partitions. Base System Installation Checklist: [O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it Initial boot: [O] Detect network card: [O] Configure network: [E] Detect CD: [O] Load installer modules: [O] Detect hard drives: [O] Partition hard drives: [O] Create file systems: [O] Mount partitions: [O] Install base system: [O] Install boot loader: [O] Installed system ok: [O] Comments/Problems: Install went pretty smoothly. This was my first time with the new one-stage install, and that was pretty cool. I tried to configure my network manually, but the installer failed when I tried to do that. After accepting my input for nameservers, I would be left with a blue screen and a white line at the bottom. It still responded to the keyboard; Enters added more white lines at the bottom, and Alt+F2 got me to the new console all right, but the installer itself was frozen. Note that I declined to install any tasks during the installation. I also upgraded my machine to unstable since the installation. This is reflected in the package lists below. -- Please make sure that the hardware-summary log file, and any other installation logs that you think would be useful are attached to this report. Once you have filled out this report, mail it to submit@bugs.debian.org. ============================================== Installer lsb-release file: ============================================== Parted currently supports DOS, Mac, Sun, BSD, GPT, MIPS and PC98 disklabels/partition tables, as well as a 'loop' (raw disk) type which allows use on RAID/LVM. Filesystems which are currently fully supported are ext2, ext3, fat (FAT16 and FAT32), ReiserFS (with libreiserfs) and linux-swap. Parted can also detect and remove HFS (Mac OS), JFS, NTFS, UFS (Sun and HP), XFS and ASFS/AFFS/APFS (Amiga) filesystems, but cannot create, resize or check these filesystems yet. . Note that ReiserFS support is only enabled if you install the libreiserfs0.3-0 package. Since libreiserfs0.3-0 has been removed from sarge, ReiserFS support is not compiled in the default package. . The nature of this software means that any bugs could cause massive data loss. While there are no known bugs at the moment, they could exist, so please back up all important files before running it, and do so at your own risk.
