1) Put 'sb' (without the quotes) on a line by itself in /etc/modules
2) To see if this will work type 'modprobe sb' at the commandline
The best place to go is http://ldp.linuxhelp.ca/HOWTO/Soundblaster-AWE.html
which is a mirror of The Linux Documentation Project's Soundblaster AWE
32/64 HOWTO
which gives much more detailed instructions and information.
If that doesn't work, let us know what you have tried.
You probably can't find the driver because it is included with the
kernel. It is probably in /lib/modules/2.4.27/kernel/drivers/sound
or /lib/modules/2.6.x/kernel/sound/isa (unless I remember incorrectly
and awe64 is not an isa card)
If you've install the alsa-modules-2.4.27-2-x package (usually
alsa-modules-2.4.27-2-386) I'm not exactly sure which
/lib/modules/2.4.27/ subdirectory the drivers are in.
Perhaps you could let us know the output of 'uname -a'.
While we're at it, how about 'lsmod'?
