you still don't understand the problem, do you ?

Well, this is all fine and well, but it is still not a solution, just a ugly
hacky workaround. Would it be so scary to add two more tasks ? really ? I
understand there may be an usability issue since i think tasksel don't support
task dependencies, but this is the way it should be :

  [ ] Simple Desktop (No gnome or KDE)
  [ ] Gnome Desktop
  [ ] KDE Desktop
      (both of these would enable the simple desktop stuff)
  ... load of server tasks ...

Or if you would go further with your logic, you would have :

  [ ] Desktop system
  [ ] Server System

Or even further :

  [ ] Debian system

And then, what is the utility of the task stuff ? We could as well remove it,
especially as all the usefull desktop tasks have dissapeared anyway.
