Yes it does, doesn't it :-)

Thanks. From these lines near the beginning at the log, it looks like the
existing sun disklabel info is incorrect:
(0,0,0) (2779,12,54)	-1	0-2163248639	2163248640	primary	free	/dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target3/lun0/part-1
(2779,12,55)	(2780,14,4)	-1	2163248640-2164083199	834560	primary	label	/dev/scsi/host0/bus0/target3/lun0/part-1

The error is in the second line: AFAIK the disklabel "partition" should
cover the whole drive, i.e. start at sector 0, and it looks like it does
not on your disk.

I suggest you try creating a new sun disklabel for the disk. You can do
this in partman by selecting the line for the disk after choosing "manual
partitioning".
(AFAICT the disk is empty otherwise so no data will be lost?)

I cannot compare the output with my own Sparc U10 ATM because it is busy
compiling a kernel package... I could try this later if this info is
not sufficient. Please let us know.

Cheers,
FJP
