You're welcome. Indeed, I would appreciate if you can continue
following this thread, by subscribing to -i18n (the traffic is anyway
not that high). If so, we could remove the CC....

Well, probably yes. However I'd like to see discussion with Alastair
McKinstry about console handling issues...and possible try to converge
towards a somewhat "universal" console handling set of packages.
We currently have console-data/console-common. Alastair talks about
switching to kbd (which didn't happen yet).
I would really appreciate if people working on these issues try to
work together because it becomes very likely that we will otherwise
have two (or three) *good* console handling environments, among which
the choice will be hard.
Maybe time to form a wroking group about console i/o, don't you think?
