I'm afraid you've not selected the correct mailing list for this question. debian-boot is about the debian-installer which does not yet support the 2.6.14 kernel. I suggest you send your question to the debian-kernel mailing list instead and also suggest that you specify which architecture you are using and which tool was used to generate the initrd.
