Hmmm. An easy way to find out something like this is just to try it...
Probably takes less time than you asking the question and me answering it 
(and leaves no room for misinterpretation of what's written).

Anyway, partman is not used. Instead a list of partitions is shown from 
which the user has to select his root partition. Then a shell is started. 
Other partitions have to be mounted separately.

The selection of the root partition could be made more user friendly.
