Yep, sorry no machine at hand where i could try this out when i asked. I could
go looking in the code itself though :)

This is a full list of partitions, we don't do probing of content and such ?

That would be nice. Especially if we advertize this method as 2.4+initrd-tools
to 2.6+yaird upgrade path.
