It should be made clear in section 7.5, "Configure PCMCIA Support", that
configuring PCMCIA is, alone, enough to get a PCMCIA ethernet card
working. I spent several hours trying to figure out how to insert the
module for my PCMCIA ethernet adapter on my laptop into the installation
kernel before I simply tried configuring the network. :)

Perhaps change last sentence, second paragraph from "However, if you are
installing by way of a PCMCIA network device, this alternate must be
selected, and PCMCIA support must be configured prior to configuring the
network" to "However, if you are installing by way of a PCMCIA network
device, this alternate must be selected, and PCMCIA support must be
configured prior to configuring the network. This alternate step is
sufficient to load the device driver for a PCMCIA ethernet card."

Or similar.

Thanks,
David Richmond

I'm closing these bugs because install-doc was the documentation for the
boot-floppies, which have reached end of life.

Current installation documentation is in the debian-installer-manual
package. If you think that your documentation issue is still not
adequately covered in the sarge installer manual, please reopen your bug
report and reassign it to debian-installer-manual.
