Package: debian-installer
Severity: important
Version: i386 netboot image from daily build of Joey Hess

Hello,

For automated installs with preseeding information
you have to append "var/var=val" combinations.

appending

 languagechooser/language-name=English
 countrychooser/shortlist=NL

will skip the the language and country question (because it is allready
answered)

appending

 check/a=1 check/b=2 check/c=3 check/d=4
 languagechooser/language-name=English countrychooser/shortlist=NL

will ask for the country, because there is some limit.

cat /proc/cmdline shows the complete content of the bootprompt appends.

'set' shows the checks and lang.ch., but not countrych.

cheers
Geert Stappers

The command line limit issues have been addresed by:

 - Newer 2.6 kernels increasing the limits;
 - Localechooser compressing two options into one, etc;
 - d-i dropping some junk options from syslinux.conf, etc.
