This is a bit strange as the d-i manual [1] contains a warning about 
support of LVM on PPC, but not about RAID.

Note that there _are_ differences between architectures in their support 
of RAID and LVM, not because a different version of libparted is used, 
but because they use different types of disklabels which allow for 
easier / more difficult implementation of RAID and LVM support.
