linux-2.6 deprecates kernel-latest, afaict. It provides the same binary
packages as transition packages that depend on the s/kernel/linux/
equivalents.

The remaining problem is that the version string used by the linux-2.6
transition packages is < the kernel-latest counterparts.

I would think d-i could avoid that problem by using the linux-*
metapackages instead of the transition packages.

I only looked at x86; not sure that all archs that used a kernel-latest
have switched.
