<I have two 80GB Maxtor Serial ATA drives. They were striped. In BIOS, it appears to be a 160GB Drive.
The installer picked them up as two separate drives. I went ahead and partitioned the first one without
a problem. I went on with the install, installed GRUB to the MBR, and rebooted the machine. It hangs on
a blank screen after the reboot. For variation, I will attempt to mirror the drives ...SATA chipset is
Promise FastTrack 20378 I mirrored the drives and redid the install, it seems to work only if the boot loader is installed on another IDE drive I have, not on the SATA drives.>
