.au mirror changes
Hi,
A bit of a situation has popped up with the .au Debian mirror.
PlanetMirror has done some reorganisation and separated HTTP and FTP to two
different servers.
Previously http://ftp.au.debian.org/ and ftp://ftp.au.debian.org/ both
worked. Now[1] it doesn't. ftp.au.debian.org is a CNAME to
ftp.planetmirror.com, which funnily enough, only talks FTP.
What we're going to need is an http.au.debian.org, which is a CNAME to
debian.planetmirror.com, which talks HTTP. I've asked debian-admin if they
can make this DNS entry happen.
Then of course, we need the mirror chooser in d-i to do the right thing.
Given that Sarge is in freeze, and assuming debian-admin can make the DNS
entry soonish, is there any more than a snowflake's chance in hell of
getting this sorted out before Sarge releases?
regards
Andrew
[1] PlanetMirror has done some funky redirection stuff on their end to
reenable HTTP requests to ftp.au.debian.org to do the right thing.
