The first blocker was the choice of mouse device in the X configuration. It's about a serial mouse. I chose "Microsoft" instead of "automatic". In effect, it's the second choice offered and it's exactly what's written on my mouse, so it strongly appears to be the best possible choice. I had to indicate, using Linux terminology, the port that my mouse was attached to. An ordinary user will never guess that it's probably ttyS0 :( This may seem like just another detail to you, but for an ordinary user, a computer without a mouse isn't a computer. If the mouse configuration requires a certain level of expertise, the ordinary user can't do anything but give up.
