...this time i try another installation in the expert mode and choose lilo as 
bootloader. No problems. Well done! In the Debian installer menu the entry 
"choose language" is double. Could that be a bug?!

Thank you for your installation reports. I am closing the successful one, 
but keeping the original one with the grub error open.

The double menu entry for choose language is a known issue that does not 
affect Sarge.
