mounted on the old debian install and will mount under knoppix 2004 05 10
Install base system: [O]
Install boot loader: [E] Did not detect installed winxp
Reboot: [O]
Comments/Problems:
0.
The Xwin systems seems better than before, where the fonts are concerned. Also
the selection of software seems better, with things as openoffice installed.
1.
Installing xwin is still not easy for "normal" users (what kind of
graphics???), I installed the /etc/X11/XF86Config-4 from knoppix, which runs
oke. Having this automatically detected would be a big plus.
2.
This install will not mount the usb drive (/dev/sda1) (which was mounted under
the old testing release) Switching or moving this device seems not detected by
hotplug????, running an /etc/init.d/hotplug force-reload hangs, with the
folowing processes hanging (even with the usb hd switched off)
2294 pts/1 S+ 0:00 /bin/sh -e /etc/init.d/hotplug force-reload
2308 pts/1 S+ 0:00 /bin/sh /etc/hotplug/usb.rc stop
Syslog from /etc/init.d/hotplug force-reload

Install could be faster (less user time) by first (after a basic install)
running through all the questions, followed by the unattended install by the
system
If you have any questions, drop a note,
Generally, I think debian has for a number of reasons a great distro (both
stable (for production servers) and testing for test servers / desktops)
