because IMHO it should be CD-Rom in all languages and not translated, as
it's a standard abbreviation.

But I know French people translate everything (like ADN instead of DNA,
I didn't want to be offensive, just a consideration). And I didn't know
that /cédérom/ was universally accepted [1].

Anyway, it sounds strange to me, but probably just because I'm not
French mother-language and I'm used to /CD-Rom/. So, don't pay too much
attention to my remark.
