I'm tired of seeing this bug so I'm teetering between removing the feature versus coming up with a fix. How do you actually use the /media/cdromX stuff? Do you add entries manually to your fstab or something? From the perspective as a developer 'inheriting' the discover1 source code from Progeny, the feature seems completely useless in practice.
