I experience similar problems

# cfdisk /dev/hdc

Partition layout (from fdisk):

Note #2: It is my intention to re-title this bug to be more descriptive.
Whilst sifting through the 300 or so bugs against util-linux,
descriptive bug titles are very very handy! ;)
