Comments/Problems:
I do use the installed grub loader on the primary SCSI controller (the
IBM ServeRAID) that boots my SuSE 9.1. I copied the debian entries
over to the grub menu. It boots the debian kernel and loads the initrd
(it seems) but then panics, when trying to mount root. It seems as if
the volume group has not been activated properly after the loading of
the 3ware driver. In the SuSE box (booting from the IBM ServeRAID), i
need to manually 'pvscan' after loading the 3x-9xxx driver and
'vgchange -a y' to get access to the debain partitions on the 3ware
disk set. There it works flawlessly.
I looked at the initrd image, but couldn't find any pvscan command or
the correct order of the loading of the modules (dm-mod should be
loaded _after_ the 3ware driver, right?)
Could you please let me know what else you need to get me going? I
would like to create a working initrd image, but have no clue how to
do that properly from my SuSE system.
Thanks for any help
Jocki
PS: I would love to switch over to debian, finally! :-)
