It seems discover1 from version 1.7 has addition modules list for 2.6
kernels - look at changelog:

discover1 (1.7.0) unstable; urgency=low

 * Gaudenz Steinlin
   - Add support for additional list for kernel 2.6
     The lists for 2.6 are (pci|usb|sbus|pcmcia)-26.lst
     This needs discover1-data >= 1.2004.09.24
     The 2.6 list are loaded as additions to the normal lists.

(AFAIK addition modules for 2.6 can be used, because now in discover.c
function main(int argc, char **argv) addition moduleas are loaded if
kernel 2.6 is detected, look at lines 253 - 269 )

Also you can look at /usr/share/discover/*26.lst

So, please load mousedev module automatically when using 2.6 kernel, it
would be very good if you do this ASAP, because Debian Sarge must be
released with working mouse when using 2.6 kernel.

Thanks for maintaining,
