Hi, would it at least be possible to add some comments and commented-out commands to /etc/discover.conf to point users/admins how to disable OSS in favour of ALSA? Needless to say that sound setup seems to still suck big time for Sarge, see e.g. http://lists.debian.org/debian-gtk-gnome/2004/10/msg00027.html. cheers, Michael
