I've found the source for this elusive message.
Besides the real extra-packages to be installed, /var/lib/apt-install/queue
also contains 'initrd-tools' and 'kernel-image-*'.
What you took for a full package name was probably the kernel version.
As both packages are already installed, they only flash by very quickly and
nothing is actually done.
IMHO this is not really worth fixing.
