Comments/Problems:

Incorrect mount options were set for the root partition which resulted in the boot failing. Rescue boot got me single user mode where I could umount/mount the partitions and edit fstab. The root partition entry now reads:

/dev/hda1 / xfs defaults 0 1

I think, IIRC, that I had to remove the fail mount ro part which is not relevant for XFS root.

_Other comments_

The warning about XFS root was a little harsh. Notwithstanding the bug above, if grub is set to use the MBR, there will be no problems with XFS root AFAICR. Indeed, I had no (well not many) problems with it.

Choosing XFS for all partitions was slightly painful in that I had to go through and edit each partition. What would be absolutely divine would be a menu item to change the filesystem for all partitions used as the point where you confirm the partitions.

Overall I'm very impressed with the new installer - you guys have done a wonderful job!
