Package:installation Severity:normal Actually, this is more of an inconsistency than a bug. I tried to install Debian on my computer two different times (since the first time didn't work). The first time, I booted my computer using CD 2, and the second time I booted from CD 1. The options presented in the various installation menus were dramatically different when I booted from CD instead of CD 2. On CD 1, for example, there was no section for installing usb modules, and on CD 2 there was no place that I could install the ntfs drivers. Also, when I installed from CD 2 I kept getting an error that LILO could not be installed, but I did not get the error when booting from CD 1. Another, less important difference is that the display was crisper and showed a penguin on CD 1. I don't recall seeing the penguin when I booted from CD 2. Fortunately, this should be very easy to fix. It seems pretty obvious that CD 2 (and probably CD's 3 to 7) boot to an older version of the installer. I installed from the debian-30r2-i386 isos, and I fetched them using jigdo. The primary server used was http://linux.csua.berkeley.edu/debian.
