Comments/Problems:

Basically it worked like a champ. Both with the creation of the LVM group and volume, however, I found that in my ignorance I was using invalid names (spaces, too long etc.) and the installer was just silently failing. E.g. I'd create a group, it would seem to work and then when I'd go to put a volume in it it wasn't there! Once I trimmed my names down to size it behaved as expected.
