Hmmm....

Maybe not so much as expected after all.

It died installing the base system.  This is repeatable (I tried it
twice, it died identically)

	Base system installation error
	the debootstrap program exited with an error (return value 1)

This can be closed.  The problem has disappeared in the mists of 
testing.  I've successfully gotten beyond this point several times.
