Partition table entries are not in disk order

[d0p3 is the ext3 root partition, d0p5 is swap. Not sure why they both
show type 83.]

Comments/Problems:

Attempting to installing Sarge onto free space of two Seagate
ST380013AS 80 GB drives arranged in a RAID 0 striped set by the Sil
3112/3112A controller. There is an existing NTFS partition on the
striped set.

----------
Problem 1:

Install did not load the needed ataraid and medley modules, required
manual installation of the modules from shell:

insmod ataraid
insmod medley

Once these modules were loaded, the RAIDed drives, NTFS partition, and
free space were detected correctly when the "Partition disks" step was
re-done. I was then able to create 2 new partitions, one for swap, and
the other for the ext3 file system.

However, when restarting the install, it does not detect the partition
types of the two linux partitions after the insmod of ataraid and
medley. The partitioner sees the previously created partitions on the
striped set, but sets them to unused. Under Knoppix the ext3 partition
can be hand-mounted after installing the medley module.

----------
Problem 2:

Install of base system fails when installing kernel-image-2.4.26 with
this error message:

/usr/sbin/mkinitrd: device /dev/ataraid/c0d0p3 is not a block device

I list /dev/ataraid below, and c0d0p3 doesn't even exist! Is this a
problem with MAKEDEV?
