Root Device: IDE
Root Size/partition table: Dual boot : XP partition + Swap + Home + /
Output of lspci: Unknown

Base System Installation Checklist:

Partition hard drives:  [O]
Create file systems:    [O]
Mount partitions:       [O]
Install base system:    [O]
Install boot loader:    [O]
Reboot:                 [O]
[O] = OK, [E] = Error (please elaborate below), [ ] = didn't try it

Comments/Problems:
Worked fine, except one very upsetting thing : during installation (especially cfdisk)
screen is considered to have a 4/3 ratio, and because the system enlarges the screen
to fit on my 16/10 laptop screen, some of the bottom lines are hidden, and unreachable.

As noted, the bios can probably fix this. If not, the boot time help
explains how to boot with a framebuffer disabled for broken laptop
screens.
