Test Candidate 1 on alpha pws 500au (miata)

Hi you people from Debian!

I just test yesterday the "test Candidate 1" image on my PWS 500au (miata) and I would like to give you some feedback.

There seems to be a problem with the qlogicisp module.  Indeed I got "syslog.warn klogd:scsi:aborting command due to timeout" message after module loaded and the installation just freeze.

Also, I did'nt find a tulip module ? but I didnt' check the dmesg may be is tulip kernelized ?

I was very surprised to see that the module usb-ohci module is working fine.
Since a month or two, I was trying out the experimental release of gentoo on my machine and had a lot of problems in compiling a fully working kernel and modules.  vanilla-source did'nt compile the kernel, alpha-source compile fine but usb-ohci did'nt work, I have also compiled some other kernel sources without success (gentoo-source, and others I do'nt remember...) I even try to compile all those kernels on my other alpha (alpha server 1000a) under SuSe axp, but same result.
!!!  The only kernel that compile and work very fine was the custom update kernel from HP !!!

ftp://ftp2.compaq.com/pub/linux/RedHat/7.2-alpha/updates/srpms/kernel-2.4.18-27.7.1hp.src.rpm

It could be a good idea to look to those sources.

Hope that that helps.
